As part of my day job I was provided with a Dell Venue 11 Pro. I tried running Fedora Linux on this but the hardware support for this device is rather limited. So I’ve moved to Windows 8.1 which uses Internet Explorer 11. But this combination does not work well with DuckDuckGo. This post is to provide an easy to use option for adding in DuckDuckGo as a search provider in IE 11.
This year’s Rotary Martinborough Fair was fantastic. The variety of stalls just gets better every time. A big thanks to the people at Martinborough Village for getting me onto the balcony of the Martinborough Hotel so I could get a birds eye view.
Ben Cherry wrote an article on In My Bag describing why he loves the Fujifilm X series cameras and lenses. The points made in this article hit the nail on the head. The biggest thing that attracts me to the Fujifilm X series (which Ben did not mention) is the lack of interference. By interference I mean that it is easy for the camera to become and extension of yourself and it doesn’t get in the way of shooting. To put it another way, they just get out of the way and let you shoot. The guys over at Inspired Eye did a fantastic podcast on interference, it’s definitely worth tracking down if you are considering a camera purchase.
A Christmas party for New World Metro staff. What an awesome group of people! Gerard and I had a brilliant time. Definitely a group of real keen dancers!
This was a fun party for Advance Electrical and their customers. Gerard and I had a ball.
This show turned out to be a high energy event. Gerard was on fire despite being rather tired from doing so many shows. The hall at Kuranui College was a fantastic venue to work in. As a bonus, we had some fantastic help from some of the students.
We had a lot of fun with the team from Masterton Medical Centre. The staff at Paper Road Winery were fantastic and treated us very well. We managed to transform the venue into an intimate but rockin’ place. I’m sure that Gerard will remember this as one of the better shows as we got all of the little details sorted. A big thanks to the Paper Road staff and Masterton Medical Centre for being such an awesome group of people!
